Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. The Nature of Contributions & Contractual Commitment
When you make a contribution or pay for transparency access on Third Estate, you fund empirical research, validation datasets, and institutional development. In return, Third Estate enters into a binding contractual obligation to apply its best efforts toward achieving its published vision, mission, and deliverables.
2. Force Majeure Exclusions
Our contractual obligation to advance the mission is strictly limited by events of Force Majeure. In the occurrence of such events, performance delays or project disruptions shall not constitute a breach of contract and shall not trigger an automatic right to a refund.
Force Majeure events include, but are not limited to:
- Financial crises, sudden loss of banking or processing facilities, or unavoidable insolvency.
- Political upheavals, regulatory crackdowns, state intervention, statutory prohibitions, or judicial mandates.
- Acts of God, natural disasters, epidemics, or civic emergencies.
- Incapacity, permanent physical disability, or unforeseen demise of the founding team.
3. Refund Eligibility & The 30-Business-Day Cure Period
Outside of qualifying Force Majeure events, we stand firmly behind our deliverables:
If a contributor encounters an unresolved failure to access paid transparency disclosures, line-by-line ledgers, or associated member benefits, they must notify Third Estate in writing. Third Estate is entitled to a cure period of thirty (30) business days from the receipt of notice to rectify the issue.
If the issue cannot be resolved or rectified within thirty (30) business days (assuming no intervening Force Majeure event), the contributor is entitled to claim a refund of the amount paid for that service.
Accidental duplicate charges or erroneous deductions caused by payment gateway timeouts or technical synchronization issues are eligible for an immediate full refund upon transaction verification.
4. Refund Request Procedure & Payout Timelines
To submit a grievance or claim under the 30-business-day provision, email thethirdestate26@gmail.com with:
- Your registered transaction ID / payment reference number.
- Date and amount of contribution.
- Specific detail regarding the unfulfilled benefit or technical discrepancy.
Once a refund is verified and approved following the cure evaluation, it will be remitted through our payment aggregator back to the original source account (UPI, card, or net banking) within 5 to 7 business days.
